MG MGF Technical - Rear Window of Soft top

Morning all,

I noticed on MS's site that they can repair the plastic rear window. Is this correct?
If so does anyone know of anywhere near Taunton somerset that will be able to do this or am I just going to have to get a new one?

Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm not sure that the rear screen can be repaired; it can be patched or replaced. I suspect (but could be wrong - new products always arriving) that Mike sells a replacement rear screen in either plastic or heated glass.

Replacement screens are available from several sources in addition to Mike: MGF Centre in Wolverhampton, http://www.softtopwindows.com in south London or by post for DIY fitting. In fact look in the Advertisers section at the top of the screen and you should find a few ... but near Taunton?

I'm getting mine replaced by a soft top place in langport near yeovil tomorrow so if you want i will let you know how it went and if i would recommend them.

I just called Shires Rover and they want over 500 quid to replace the window and they said they might need the car for two days!!

They can kiss my A*@E!

Please tel me I can get it done cheeper than that?
S Hanstead

About 1/5 of the cost.

The reason Rover are so expensive is that replace the whole hood, you can get just the screen done for about a ton.

Try again: "Replacement screens are available from several sources in addition to Mike: MGF Centre in Wolverhampton, http://www.softtopwindows.com in south London or by post for DIY fitting. In fact look in the Advertisers section at the top of the screen and you should find a few ..."

softtopwindows site has full instructions for DIY fitting and 2 simple prices - buy it & fit it OR let them do it for you.

Without bothering to look at their site memory suggests less than £100 DIY and less than £150 SEDI.

You can get a complete replacement hood (very low milage, one carefull owner etc) with frame for less than £300 from Victoria (and other places as well).

Sorry sprinter, I hadn't checked out the web site before I spoke to shires and it just sounded
way too expensive to me.

I don't think that I would be able to fit it myself but the fitted price is more like how much I thought it would cost.

Cheers
