MG MGF Technical - Recirc Pump: wiring

Following previous threads about fitting an electric recirculation pump in the bypass cooling circuit to prevent heat soak (inspired by the lotus Exige system)
I came with the following electric diagram:
http://web.tiscali.it/elise_s1/delay.gif
the pump will always work for some seconds when the ignition is turned off (time adjustable with the trimmer). then, if the thermo switch (originally a fan switch, to be fitted in the coolant flow) senses a high temperature the pump will stay on until the temp drops.
Carlo

Carlo, please have look the link doesn't work for me.

Strange.
try:
http://web.tiscali.it/elise_s1/
and then add delay.gif to the url...
cheers
Carlo

Carlo

OK with adding to the subfolder. Tiscali allows htm or html direct only to prevent from FTP downloads.

Anyway, circuit looks reasonable.
The problem for Dave was/is to find a ready made black box with simple plug&play option for easiest DIY installation.
Dieter K.

No problem adding a control box Dieter - the problem was the insane cost we were quoted for a unit cost :o(

Thanks Carlo, that could be very useful! The site is shaping up brilliantly BTW. :o) Are you still okay for me to use those images you sent me? I will include your URL now in any case.

Dieter, the question Bruce and I had regarding the purge valve power delay circuit was how long it remains live after turning off the ignition. Do you have a feel for how long this period is on your car, and on the sadly demised green F that preceeded it?

Cheers all! :o)
Rob Bell

the component prices for the all the bits of the circuit (excluding the bulb switch) is far less than 10 euros...
Rob,
thanks, feel free to use as much as you like from my site. I'm working to add the recirc pump, as it's subject-related
Carlo

Err, wanted to measure the time.
Will add a test bulb to the window 'live' circuit at my F and have some tests with warmed up engine.
Dieter K.

Thanks Carlo. We'll have to share notes over the recirc pump!

Dieter, that'd be great. I'm planning to do something similar to my car too, so with two cars so equipped, hopefully we'll get an idea on how consistent the MEMS timing is.
