MG MGF Technical - Seat Belt pre-tensioners?

Now i know why i never tackle DIY jobs... i'm bloody useless at it!!! :o(

I've sourced 2 new seats to replace the knackered old ones. New ones did not come with seat belt pre-tensioners (i think that's what they;re called) :-/.

How do i remove the old ones? All i see is this star-ish type screw....?! What sort of tool do i use to remove it?
Also, there's a wire coming from it which is held by a clip beneath the seat. I know it's airbag related, but how do i get the clip out? Just pull?!

Hope that's clear. Any help would be much appreciated!

The screw is a Torx (spelling) screw and yes the clip just pulls out

BUT

WARNING ensure you have disconnected the battery for at least fifteen minutes before messing with the seat belt pretensioners they use EXPLOSIVES !!!!!!!!

Not to worry ted. The seats are off the car... phew! Explosives!!!!!!?

So how do i go about removing the torx screw, ie what tool do i use or is it some specialised tool. Just wondering if i should bother "trying" to remove it myself ,or carry the entire seats down to the mechanics and asking them to do it... *blush blush* ;o)

Don't know if you have an 'Halfords' in Cyprus but if you do you get a set of Torx bits or drivers - a bit like Allen keys but just fit into a socket set or screwdriver head. I dont know the size off hand but I am sure someone will come up with the answer - Scarlet where are you?

Ted, there is certainly not a halfords in Cyprus (or anything like it). Not to worry Scarlet, looks like i have to load up the chairs and have the tensioners removed by the mechanics. The car's interior re-assembly takes place this week, and it just ain't worth the hassle of seeking this torx-screw tool.

Thanks for your help though Ted!

See for a Torx 50. A slight small Torx 45 will fit also.
Short id T50 or T45.
Take care with buying any standard ratchet kit, cause they almost contend up to small T40 only.
