If you buy some, the best thing to do with it is to put the bottle on a dusty shelf at the back of the garage along with the snake oil and pheromone spray ..

Probably get shot down in flames here - but here goes...

I used in in my Mini Clubman, Opel Manta and Vauxhall Nova and found it improved starting, fuel economy and reduced oil consumption.

I know there have been reports discrediting Slik and its claims to run a VW Golf for over 50 miles on a dry engine - and I can't say how effective it would be on a modern injected engine but Castrol put PTFE in their oil don't they??

I havn't put it in my F yet, as Anon suggests - it's sitting on a dusty shelf in the garage!!

Does it mix with any oil? - Yes I think it does. If I were you I'd put it in your B first and see what you think.

Hi,

I have used Slick 50 in the past, even in my 214, and it seemed to run a little more eagerly afterwards. There again, it goes miles faster after I've washed it, so it might have more to do with my brain than the engine.

Then I found the internet, and hours of free surfing at work, so I opened Google and typed in "slick 50". That evening I rushed home to change the oil and filter. Personally I wouldn't touch this, or any oil additive, with a barge pole.

Apart from all the law suits, filter clogging, blocked galleries, etc. one has no idea of the quality of the carrier oil. Well, one can guess that it isn't Mobil 1.

I know of no Castrol oil that contains PTFE, certainly none that I buy.

Regards, Kes.
