MG MGF Technical - Swedish MGF´s

Dear all,

Are there any Swedes outthere driving the MGF´s?
Any in Sthlm? Could be nice to meet up all the Sthlm people just talk about what Mgf enthusiasts do.
I have seen some Racing green ones outthere. Some red ones. Well, I am driving a MGF VVC 98 Tahiti Blue, rightwheel drive. Bought in London, and then after 2 year imported to Sweden. Just put in an ITG induction kit and a trophy TB 52mm. Goes much better.

Anyway, Skriv lite nu era MG galna mgf älskare. Måste få igång svenska marknaden.

Cheers

Philip

Svenska marknaden? Vad är det som är fel? Bara trevligt att vara ensam med sin MGF. Låt knoddarna köra sina slk,z3 o mx5. ;-)

Jag kör en antrazite MGF 1.8i 97:a i Helsingborg. Året runt. (Finns för övrigt en till nästan exakt likadan i stan. Kanske 4 totalt.)

Short in English: It's slightly exotic owning an MGF in Sweden!

Håller mä Svante, det är lite kul att bilen inte är så vanlig!

I have seen a purple and an orange F around NW Stochkolm where I live. Occationly a green has been spoted.

I myself drive a Tahiti blue 1.8i '99 that I imported from Berlin last year. When my lady saw a Tahiti blue F with a blond on the passanger seat and a driver that fitted my description, I had a potential though time explaining my whereabouts. The fact that my was standing in the garage when she came home saved me...

From Carl in Gothenburg I have learned we have approximately 50 F on the Swedish roads.

Owning a Brittish car with limited availibility in Sweden does add some extra challange to the ownership. Sharing best pratcice with other Swedish F owners is alway interesting. If you're on the dark side, all extras has to be imported from UK.

Ah yes Ronny but does the *F* pass the Elk Test? Not that I would want to argue with an Elk.

Hi all,

at the moment we are about 85 MGF´s here in Sweden. Still some old unsold "F"´s at the dealers and so far not seen any TF here yet. For those of You in middle and southern part of Sweden there is an annual gettogether at Ring Knutstorp by MGCC comming weekend, 12/13/14. A lot of racing with old sportcars and even an MGF in Roadsport C ! Have been there for over 15 years in a row, well worth a visit. All sportcars have free parking and full walking acess to the pits as well as a barbecue and lots of other events. If You register You can even take Your car around the track OR be a passenger in one of the many different race-cars.

As said - highly recomended. And You will also have the chance to see a BRG VVC with some very nice "extras" as big brakes , cheap but very good throttle body conversion , cold airbox, etc, etc , :))

See You at the weeekend, Carl.

Carls,
I noticed you also has the Strange "Sweden, USA" in the thread header. I managed to correct that by edititing "My details". Only then the option to edit your profile appeared, And yes, there it did say Sweden USA...

BTW have you some more information on the Ring Knutstorp activity? I can't seemt to fins anything on the http://www.mgcc.se

Med glada hälsningar,
Ronny
(som hoppas på lite mer sol nu när semestern börjat...)

I'm sorry to break in your discussion.
Though there were some more cases with this mad USA country entry.

May be it helps taking contact to Mike Plumstead on this matter, cause there may be some explanations required.
Include type of Browser to your email.

Anyway, just try the following, I just did.

If you bookmarked the recommended Entry site with the 'welcome Mr xxx site', then go there and key the 'My details button.
Check whether the field
>Town/City
>State/Province/County

is empty. I think it isn't in your 'USA' case ?

As next see whether you entered any other country (Sweden i.e) to the field below the 'USA' field...

So above:
>If you don't live in the USA, UK, Canada or Australia.

Then confirm and look again.
If that all fails, then drop Mike a line.

Hi all,
thanks for the info Dieter, will try to edit back the old one"Carl, Sweden" that I have used since 1997 !

Ronny, it is not that MGCC ! It´s an old story - too long to tell here - but try www.mgcc.nu instead and You will find all info! In short one club is the hard hats (racing helmets) , the other the soft ones. I am a member of both....;)

Hopefully there will be no rain this year, so far predictions are good. Wich leeds to a related question ; Why is it always raining at Silverstone ?

BR, Carl.

Me again, couldn't resist :)
Big ironical laughter about obviously the same mad interest conflicts between the hard core enthusiasts and 'different' clubs.
Nearly the same here in D
;)

Tack Carl!
Watching (or even participating) races is big fun. Saw some ETCC racing at Anderstorp the weekend before last. Wroooum!
