MG MGF Technical - Toe IN or Toe OUT?

Firstly, I think I need to apologise for bringing this subject up again, as looking through the archives, it appears to have been done to death! Sorry All.

However, I couldn't find the specific info that I was looking for.

I'm just about to have some new tyres put on at my local garage so thought I'd get the Compliance Washers fitted at the same time.

My problem is, what settings do I need for the tracking afterwards???

My car will be running as follows:

Standard Trophy suspension lowered as far as reasonably possible,
Standard bushes all round,
Goodyear GSD2's all round,
Compliance washers,
and, not sure if this makes any difference but, EBC grooved discs and greenstuff pads at the front.

My driving style is, how shall I put this, very very enthusiastic!! :-)

So, hands up who thinks 0 Degrees with 5 minutes Toe-IN all round???

Many thanks as always.

Kris.

Hi Kris,

With the compliance washers fitted you could go for 5 minutes toe in at the front but set the rears parallel, with that setup I've been pleasantly surprised at how long my GSD2s have lasted despite doing every track day I can lay my hands on. Not a hint of uneven wear, and I'm not falling off the track too often now, either ;o)

Purely for my info Kris - standard TROPHY lowered? How? with knuckles or just letting the air out?

Can't help with settings as I have a TF.

Hi John,

I'm afraid that I did just let out some of the hydragas fluid on one side as it had been left uneven by a "Disney" sponsered garage that I unfortunately went to.

I'm sure when it goes in for the service later this year, Rover will have no hesitation in putting it back to the 4X4 look that they seem to love so much though! :-)

Kris,
Not if you tell them to leave it alone they wont.

Forgot to mention,

thanks Mike for the info! I haven't heard of parallel rears yet. But I like the idea of GSD2 extended lifespan! :-)

Adrian, you would think that wouldn't you! :-) Last time it went in (The week before I bought it), the previous owner told them not to touch it as he had it the way he liked it, but they still raised it right up.

That gets my vote - I find parallel rear makes the car a little too tail happy in fast corners. :o)

Im still getting uneven wear on the fronts almost nothing on the outer edge of the tyres and lots of wear on the insides is this cause my car is sitting on the floor??? IE messing up the camber angles????? or could there be another reason, all of the bushes/wishbones/bearings/balljoints are new on the front. Can it be adjusted out????
