MG MGF Technical - Tracking correct but still inside tyre wear

The tracking on my car is correct with the frount tyres set slightly toe out to the settings in the workshop manual but there is still more wear on the insie of the tyres

The ride height is also correct and the car has be checked for 4 wheel alighment

Would the wear be better if the frount were set parallel or toe in or is the wear down to the the driving I do all twisty bits and little staight line motoring

Any thoughts

My tyre wear problem was caused by the lower ball joint. Didn't seem to be very worn until the suspension was at the correct height. I imagine the top ball joint can cause sinilar problems.

Assuming that all the suspension components are indeed in tip-top condition, including bearings, ball joints, track rod ends and suspension bushes, then on occasion you'll still get tyre wear.

The solution is to use non-standard tracking settings. As standard, you usually have 0 degrees 10 minutes toe-out. You could change this to either parallel (0 degrees) or 0 degrees 5 minutes toe-IN. This usually has an impact on steering feel (for the better) and usually affects an effective cure for the dreaded tyre wear problem.

This is true, but in reality, the biggest contributor on the MGF is toe-angle (that and a combination of castor angles and the kinematic characteristics of the MGF's front suspension). In broad terms, so long as the ride height is not too extreme, the camber is rarely extreme enough on its own to lead to the patterns of tyre wear seen; altering the toe-angle (the only truly adjustable parameter on MGF and TF suspension)usually plays dividends in eradicating the problem. :o)

Not that I remeber but it was actually my daughters car. It was a year ago now. It feels like my car I seem to be fixing it all the time, I must be the cheapest garage for miles around. :-)
