Hi john,

Whilst I never had any issues with even the OE pads, the SBS Carbon Ceramic pads MS sells come highly recommended if you're planning the odd track day. Occasionally noisy when cold, but they've never failed to give me 100% confidence. Admittedly slightly less 'feel' than the Mintex 1177s, but much harder-wearing - you'll probably munch the discs before needing more pads.

See you at Castle Combe in September maybe..?

Hi MGJohn
I just bought some from Mike Satur
this is what he said
"Pads for the AP calipers come in various grades, we do Black Diamond ,Mintex ,SBS and of course the stock ones from Rover.

I would advise some Mintex 1144 at £76 plus vat and del, or Black Diamond at £48.50 plus vat and del. the stock Rover ones are £90 plus and the SBS
ceramic are £98.
Bottom line ??? Try the Black Diamond V.good value."

David have you got them fitted yet? If you have, what is your opinion of them?
Cheers Mike.

My experience is that Mintex 1177 pads are brilliant for track days but eat discs. But for normal road use they are totally lethal if you dont have ABS!

I run 1177s at the rear all the time but use EBS greenstuff for the roads and 1177s for the track. This way I can stop in whatever circumstances.

No I have not as yet. I have been having problems with my locking wheel nuts and this weekend I am too busy with Stoneleigh. I will post an update when I have fitted them and let them bed in.
