MG MGF Technical - Water proofing soft top

Hi,
Can anybody recommend a product for reprotecting the soft top on my 97 MGF. During the last couple of weeks when the car has been stood over night water drops seem to collect on the underside of the roof leaving unsightly white reside when it drys out.
I know i should put my hood mate on but it is not always praticable.
Any ideas

I use the AutoGlym Hood cleaning/proofing kit. Its around £20 and is stocked by most branches of Halfords or you can get it online from www.speeding.co.uk for £23inc free delivery.

Grangers FABSIL has always been successful for me, I bought a 2.5 litre can 3 years ago and reproof the soft top about twice a year and there's still plenty left. Also available in a Spray can but not as good as brushing it on. Available from most Camping/Outdoor
Shops and not too expensive.

I would stick with the Auto-glym. Like Steve said you get both cleaner, conditioner and a sponge for £20 from halfords. I bought some a couple of weeks ago and it does the trick.
Paul

Thanks for your comments, will get some Auto Glym and apply at the weekend.

Simon,

I have tried the Autoglym stuff, but I have found these products to be much better:

What do you guys recommend for my light grey TF top.

I've used the MGR stuff up till now, but can't say I'm too impressed.

(The car was a "special" with various extras, including the coloured hood. I was hoping it would be blue, but it turned out to be grey. Looks OK when it's REALLY clean, but(I think) it looks naff when it's not)

I go with the Fabsil lobby, it's cheap enough to use once or twice a year and after 4 years, I can definitely say it works. My old tent is pretty good too after using the same stuff.

I second Per. Regular use of Renovo keeps the hood like new. Don't think they do anything for grey hoods tho'.

Yes, that's what I was getting at, David. Everything mentioned appears to be for black tops.

Except, Fabsil....that's colourless isn't it? I'm sure I had some of that a few years back for our tent. Hmmmm...must check the garage when I get home!
