MG MGF Technical - what oil is best

Hi Folk,

what's the best type of oil for a 1997 MGF??

I use Magnetec in a 97 VVC.

5W40 full sythetic
(From any brand. I like to have the MOTUL type 8100 if I could find it)

Have used Mobil 1, now 0W40 grade since new. Car now 12 years old. Engine runs fine and oil temperature seems to keep under control.
