MG MGF Technical - Where to buy...

Where should I buy those PU bushes to improve the suspension/ tracking?
Freek

Mike Satur for Powerflex ones.

Brown and Gammons for thier version (not Powerflex).

SF
Scarlet Fever

Due to less shipment charge I sourced mine at http://www.motorsport-richter.de/
Years ago though. Might be worth asking them again, but you need to tell them exactly what you want (part Numbers).

Freek,

Try http://www.prins-techniek.nl for a dutch supplier. Be warned though. I've ordered them for my GF's cinquecento sporting and they took 5 WEEKS to deliver due to powerflex' slow shipping.

Thanks for the addresses.

What parts/ bushes do you recommend changing? Should I go for the full package?
Freek

Freek, drop info@mgfnl.nl, UK car parts stocks the powerflex bushes and will be able to sort you, his name is Marten and he is in Holland specialising in MGF parts.

SF which is better?

Neil

MOTOBUILD can also supply the Polyflex ones or I'm not sure if Victoria at The MGF Centre can supply also?

Duncan.

Neil,

Powerflex versus Superflex

I fear if you have a 'spy' look at the manufacturers site, you will find two different raw material colours getting in and two different coloured final bushes getting out.
;) (Just my thoughts)
sales@powerflex.co.uk David Power will know, but I doubt he will confirm.

btw. useless to inquire direct. They will quote above distribution prices.

Powerflex vs 'other'

No idea which is best, but the Powerflex ones are better made/finished (although providing the critical dimensions are accurate, i doubt finishing off (burrs etc) have any impact on performance). No idea on the polymers used to manufacture them or how differences in the chemestry would affect the performance of the bushes either.

Powerflex ones are purple, B+Gs ones are yellow / orange.

Basically, i needed bushes as mine were worn, i bought a full set from Mike Satur at Silverstone but there were some missing when i got home. On a subsequent visit to Mike i raised the subject but he was out of Powerflex bushes so i sourced B+G ones - Scarlet currently has a mixture of both but only in pairs - i.e. there are no 'odd' ones if you know what i mean.

The difference is in the material quality of the metal insert. IIRC the one that Mike sells is the better of the two, in that the inserts are stainless steel (don't ask me what grade!!!). The ones that B&G sell use mild steel inserts.

Might be worth checking this with both Mike and the other retailers of polybushes.
Rob Bell

Andy, if its the bushes from the top of the shock absorbers that you are missing I have a set that you can have. I only replaced the bottom ones as I did not have any metric spanners!
