MG MGF Technical - Which Mark Version?
Dear All, How do you know which Mark version an mgf is, is it just according to the year of registration? Andrea
A Hall
Andrea Really no such thing as a Mk1 or Mk2 MGF but there was a makeover w.e.f ModelYear 2000 (MY2000). Minor items like the softtop or the hood cover etc changed at various times and a known as Mk1 or Mk2. I believe that Rob Bell's site has (or had) a list of changes throughout the life of.

Andrea, if you are interested then go to http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/ and pulldown MGF History, People & Info.

Main visible change to MY2000 was the colour keyed windscreen surround (black on original Fs).
David Clelland
Another easy way to tell - MK1 = white instruments with mechanical odometer, MK2 = silver instruments with digital odometer. Tim.
Tim Jenner
You know, I've been meaning to put a detailed page together on how the MGF 'Mk1' (1995-1999) became the MY2000 ('Mk2' 1999-2002) - and might be good to compare this to the TF too ('Mk3'?) I need to take some pictures I think.
Rob Bell
Rob, I am happy to provide pics of Mk3 bits in the TF160 with bright pack guise if you are interested. Dave
David Mills
