MG MGF Technical - while i'm at it... oversensitive alarm problems..
Does anyone have advice on an oversensitive alarm? has anyone else experienced this? is there a way to adjust it? at this point, we've disconnected the horn... not something I really want to be without!

You can get the sensitivity turned down by your local dealer. Don't pay more than 30 mins labour though.

.. and if it is an older MGF there will probably be a small charge for a simple interface cable to the interior microwave sensor... BR, Carl.

Might also be the microswitch in either of the door locks...

On older MGF´s there is a possibillity to go down in sensitivity by shifting from one of the connection pins to another. It is just a bias voltage that is omitted and the volumetric alarm is a bit more de-sensed.Rover does this by inserting a small interface cable in-between the original cable connector and the connector on the volumetric alarm.Found this by true R&D many years back when my overly sensitive alarm always went off in the middle of the night ! I took for granted that it was that bit of the alarm system that was ment.... Otherwise there are of course a lot of other sources for trouble as mentioned above . IMO the microswitches are of dubious quality.. BR, Carl.
