MG MGF Technical - Wiper blades

I need a new set any recomendations?
Steve Ratledge

The set I got from Carparts Direct work well:

They certainly look good according to Autoexpress.

I got some Bosch ones from Halfords but choose a set that were an inch longer than recommended - I am tall so needed the extra sweep at the top of the window. The seem fine.

I've used Bosch blades in the past - but they made such an awful racket (a loud 'clack' when changing direction at full sweep), that I junked them and bought a pair from my local dealership!

Unfortunately, that dealership has now gone - anyone know who the OEM supplier for MG wiper blades are?

Paul, I bought a pair of those ones from Car Parts direct, after they won the test in Practical Classics, but the drove me mad lifting at speed. To the point where in heavy rain on a motor-way you could not see where you were going.

Now I just stick to the MGR ones, the seem to do the job.

Andrew, were they supplied with an aerofoil attached? The MGR driver's side one certainly has one - and if not fitted, would certainly give the problem you described...
Rob Bell

Hi Rob, no the one from CarParts did not, you are quite right it would have kept the wiper down. No I think of it they also whistled.

:-)

Hmm - I wonder whether CarParts didn't supply your order correctly - or whether they don't actually do an aerofoil equipped blade?

Might be possible to transfer the aerofoil from the old blade though (would need some investigation though)

Went to Halfrouds and got there own 2 blade box (its in a red box). 21" with spoiler and 20" for passenger side. I liked the idea of a bit more clear screen. I will report back.

Why is the spoiler only for use on the drivers side? Would it casue an issue on the passenger side?

I doubt that it would be an issue Steve - probably more a question of unit cost? Try it and see...
