Aren't red crimp connectors rated at 5 amps Darren?

I thought that crimps were rated in wire gauge !!.
I used 2.5 mm steel sleeves crimped plus shrink wrap.

They are Geoff - and in multi-packs, also colour coded.

Thinking about the Red Crimps, these are too rigid and the flexability in the loom will be lost resulting in further failures in the future. You may overlap, solder and sleeve otherwise the only other alternative would be to splice a replacement section(s) of wire(s) through the flexing section.
If you decide on the Crimps, then ensure that you use the correct crimping pliers and jaws (Rob, these are also colour coded) or again, you will only make matters worse.

Personally I hare all crimp connectors. I use a decent pair of crimpers, and they still aren't as reliable as soldering up the wires and covering in shrink wrap. This is definitely the way I'd go (particularly in this area which is space sensitive, on display and subject to a lot of movement.
