MG TD TF 1500 - 1/2 Tonneau Cover comments

Can those of you that only run an original 1/2 tonneau cover comment on any issues you find with it? Would you go to a full cover if you were to replace it?
Bruce Cunha

Personally I prefer a full tonneau to protect the seats from the elements, it also keeps the interior cleaner and keeps honest people from poking around were they don’t belong.

Bruce,
I have both but don't use the 1/2 tonneau much at all.
I had it made to fit and is of the same material as the hood, some kind of Mercedes roof fabric that has a waterproof backing. Looks just like canvas kinda.
I bought the Moss 1/2 tonneau and it was difficult to fit. I guess all cars are a tad different so that may be expected. I don't think it was worth what I paid for it.
The hood and Full tonneau are 36 years old and still waterproof. Well worth having them made and paying a little extra

The best tonneau cover I ever had had two small zippers just behind the seat. Folded really nice.

Today I use the Moss cover it it's fine. When I drove alone I would run with half the full tonneau cover in place on the passenger side.

Could never see why they had the half tonneau other than to save MG costs.
Christopher Couper

I have the Moss ½ tonneau cover. It fits fine and I like the way it tucks neatly under the bar on the back of the seat. The stayfast material is durable and easy to keep clean. I understand why a ½ cover is not practical for many owners, but it is well suited for the kind of driving I do. The car is always garaged. When I go for a drive I always have my bride in the passenger seat and I never park the car and leave it unattended.

I run with the ½ tonneau when its hot to allow more air, I use half of the full tonneau when its cold or wet to try and keep some warm air in. I only put the hood up once every 2 years for the concours.

Bruce, If you are interested in a Moss tan full tonneau that is virtually like new, give a shout.
