MG TD TF 1500 - 1955 TF Distributor
What original distributor did the 55 TF xpeg engine come with from the factory? What are the letters and numbers stamped on the body? PJ

Paul, Tom Lange says; D2A4 40367, which is a late TD/TF distributor, and came with a high-lift cam. The last 4 digits that you don't give (like 1153) will be the month and year made. Jim

Thanks Jim, much appreciated. PJ

And 40368 both have a single shaft bushing. I have 1 left in stock (OEM Lucas) $ 15. Len

Question, This is crazy, my distributor has stamped in the side H76304 and under it is 86/7 ??. Square back and takes a D2A4 cap. Looking through a mirror I'm reading upside down, but the numbers are all I can see without pulling the distributor. Any clues to what I have, it came on the car when I bought it years ago.? Looks identical to a D2A4. PJ

Here's a couple pix of my distributor, I have no idea what it was originally made for! Works beautifully!

PJ, You wrote the numbers down backwards, 40367H is the correct distributor for your TF as Tom said. You can see it in your photo.

Ha, I wrote the numbers down after looking at them with a mirror upside down and backwards. Sometimes I wonder about myself! Must be a replacement by the date. PJ

I also find this resource very useful as it also has all the component part numbers. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g3a9151wc967j0o/Lucas%20Distributor%20information%20Good.%20copy.pdf?dl=0
