MG TD TF 1500 - Almond green metallic again
Following up on a thread from five years ago! I have finally gotten around to painting the TF, trying to get as close as I could to the original elusive almond green metallic and am now buffing out my backyard paint job. I have deemed it close enough. Here is an image of some of the painted parts with the spare tire cover that still has the original paint. This color looks quite different under varying lighting conditions and it is hard to get a good photo, but it is quite close. JB ![]() |

Good job! Looks great to me. What kind of paint did you use? |
Larry Brown |
That is quite attractive. I look forward to seeing it assembled. |

acrylic lacquer-perfect for painting in the back yard for someone like me with no real painting experience! |

Lovely job JB. Once had a Y type the same colour. Matthew. |

Very nice JB! That is a great looking color! Looks like you know how to use a paint gun also, Grin. Nice job, really like it! PJ |

JB, Might be Illusive, but I think it's quite ellegant!!!!!!!!!!! Will it be ready for British By The Sea Gathering down here in CT on June 7th??? Steve |

Thanks, all, for the comments. Paul, I am just now starting to figure out how to use the spray gun, now that I am almost finished. The 2000 grit paper and elbow grease make up for some of the lack of expertise- but I was not trying for perfection anyhow.... Steve, I hope to have it on the road by then but doubt I would dare to go that far on its maiden voyage! JB |
