MG TD TF 1500 - Another restored TF
Hello all My TF, HDE43 5248, is finally close enough to being finished, that I am posting a few photos. The mechanical restoration started 7 years ago. Just finished a 2 year body/paint restoration. I took the car apart, except for the tub. The wood was all good, so no real need to take the tub off the chassis. Thank you to many here for help along the way. Tom ![]() |

And, another. Now there are at least TWO TF's with rear fender stone guards, in North America.

Tom That is one pretty, pretty car. Many here realize that hours and effort a job like that takes. Be proud and drive it in style. Joe |

The car looks great Tom. The non fluted amber 576's are a nice touch. I plan to do the same. Where did you get the rear fender stone guards? |
Frank Cronin |
Yes. Tell us about those stone guards on the rear fenders. |
Christopher Couper |
Thanks for the nice comments. James, the paint is a base coat/clear coat combo. I know all don't agree with the shine of clear coat, but I like it. My painter made it up to match the original green that was in the engine compartment. That paint was original and in very good condition. Frank, the stone guards came from Australia. Some outfit there has made them over the years. I can look for the receipt, if you want to contact them. Bought them 3 or 4 years ago. Email me to remind me. Tom |

Nice car, well done! Do you have the spotlights wired through a relay, or the switch? I have one spot light, but I am thinking of adding the second one. I have it through the switch now, but I don't want to put more current through the switch. David |

Thank you David These spots have been on this car since the early 70's if not earlier. Yes, they go through a relay that one previous owner set up. I looked and looked at the relay. Finally looked with a mag glass. It is a Mercedes Benz relay via the "A" dash switch. Does the trick. Tom |

Makes three that I know of now Tom. I believe Keith has a set but I'm not sure if he put them on the car yet. Your car looks great :-) ![]() |
