MG TD TF 1500 - Are these TF Parts
One of the problems of buying an unfinished restoration (even if it was by Naylor Brothers) is identifying the parts in the "boxes". Are the parts shown in the attachment TF? If so what are they for? I have one set of the straps (i.e. a long and a short one) and four of the brackets. Thanks for the certain responses, Jan T ![]() |

I don't recognize the straps but the lower piece is a bonnet catch. |

I wonder if the straps are something to hold a heater on. |

They look like battery straps, but not off a T Type. Ray TF 2884 |

David you could be right. a KL heater is included in the parts. Ray I have the original battery strap so I suspect they are from another part of the TF or are scraps from another project. Re the bracket do the attached images show the bonnet catch? If the do how do they fit together? Jan T ![]() |

Piece on the left bolts to the bonnet. They are handed. The chrome piece bolts to the outside of the side panel with the piece on the right going on the inside of the panel. Should be a spring inside the button to push it out. the shaft gets cottered to the inner piece. Not to much fun to assemble. Once again the piece on the right is handed. |

Thanks for the prompt responses. So what is the piece on the left, in the photo, for? Jan t |

Best pic I can access right not. Can get some better shots when I get home tomorrow of how the whole thing goes together. |

Thanks to all. It is great to know what the parts are and a relief to know I have a full set. You note the surface rust - they will be taken shortly for zinc plating - would have preferred cadmium but I think it is banned in the UK Jan T |
