MG TD TF 1500 - Attaching Photos???
Sometimes I feel like a complete idiot not just my normal half idiot! I've tried to search how to attach a photo to a message and can't find anything. I'm sure there are pages available but whatever I type nothing comes up. All I'm looking for is what the maximum size a photo can be. Can someone direct me to where I might find that or advise me what the maximum size needs to be or the max pixels? Thanks. |
L Staller |
Me, too!!! And I'll go one further, can someone please tell me how to change the pixels on photos using Windows 8? I can't figure it out as I was used to XP. |

down below the "YOUR COMMENT" box where you type your reply is a BOLD instruction "UPLOAD A PICTURE" with a link underlined. "Upload" Just click on the link and Follow the instructions. However only one photo to a post. Jim B. |

I can help L Staller but can only take a WAG for WA. Below the "Your comment:" box after "Upload a picture" is a link to upload a picture (on my screen the link is green). When you click the link a dialog box opens and the upper option is "Browse." Use that to find the picture stored on your computer to be uploaded. Click on the picture and then at the lower right click "Open." At the next dialog box click on "Submit." Once the picture is successfully uploaded you'll get a message saying something like "Successfully uploaded" and the picture will appear at the bottom of your screen. In the dialog box click "Close." Pictures a limited to 1 meg and one per post. I take most of my pictures with my iPhone and them email them to me to get them into my computer. The iPhone gives me the options of small, medium, large and original size so I select whatever is the largest that is less than one meg. If I already have a picture and it's too large to upload, I open it with MS Paint from Windows Accessories (don't know if that's part of Win 8.1) which has an option to resize the picture. I usually save the reduced size as a separate file with a different name so I don't write over the original. Hope that helps. Jud |

Not sure about Win 8 but in Win7 find a picture you like in the file explorer. Right click on it. Look at properties and details (you can also hover the cursor over it too). Generally if its bigger than 1024 wide it won't fit on the post. So when you right click near the top is an Edit option. Click that and it will open MS Paint. Choose the Resize item in the Toolbar and then select Pixels. Set the width to no wider than 1024. Make sure the Maintain Apect ratio is selected. Press OK. Your picture will shrink. Now use File Save As and choose a new name and place for your smaller file (you will need this later so don't forget where you put it.). Jpegs or pngs are fine. Close MS Paint and come to the BBS. Now use the Upload link at the bottom. Select Choose File and hunt down the file you just saved. Choose Submit>> (on upload dialog) and after a few moments it will show up in your post. You can then Press the post Submit button to lock your picture and post. Note only one picture is allowed per post so if you need more than one picture, rinse and repeat. |

Jim means "only 1 photo to a post " AT ONE TIME above. If you have multiple photos simply insert the first one, then close the post, then reopen the SAME post then enter a 2nd comment/photo, etc. Do not start multiple threads. It gets real messy. In Windows 8 right click on the photo from Windows explorer from the Desktop (not the stupid Windows 8 main page!), select "Open With" and pick one of the options shown and use it's "Save as.." menu option. Play with it, you'll catch on. Windows 8 is "better"! (What a piece of cXXXap! Don't get me started!) Ed |

Gentlemen - go to Google and type in IrfanView, then download the program. IrfanView is one of the easiest photo editor to use, it is free and it does a fantastic job. Whenever I upload pictures from my camera, I immediately bring it up in IrfanView and crop it, size it (for megapixles) and can add lines, circles and test where ever I want it. Cheers - Dave |

Windows has a built in photo program called PAINT! Look under programs, Windows Accessories, Paint. I've used it for years. It does everything I want. Right click on it and put an icon on the task bar. PJ |

I have this stored as a guideline,,,,including an image resizer web site,,, Just below the box that you add your comment in, find and click on the word Upload (underlined) That will open another small window with a button called “Browse…” Click on that Browse button, and find the folder with the picture that you want to upload. Click on the picture, (JPG’s Only) then click on “Open” and the location will appear in the box next to “Browse” Click “Submit” and it should appear with your comments. You will get a message that says “Thank you, your file (FILE NAME.jpg) was successfully uploaded.” Close the window Then click “submit” to submit your mressage If you get a message that the file is too large, use one of the many “Image Resizer Sites’ available on the internet to make your file smaller. I have been using http://www.imageresizer.com/ |
