MG TD TF 1500 - Bad Links in Posts Fixed

Mike Plumstead found the bug that was causing some of us to have bad and unwanted https links in posts.

All is good in the world again so feel free to post away. It also appears that older links that were in error may now resolve too.

'All is good in the world again so feel free to post away. It also appears that older links that were in error may now resolve too.' Would that were so Chris.. Still having issues. My old link no longer works and the new one only gets me most of the way to the BBS. As technology evolves it seems communication just gets way more difficult. Cheers

In the past I had a desktop shortcut I used it to get here.
With the new updated situation it no longer worked on my Windows 7 machine.

I fussed around a bit.
Eventually, I logged in, and went to the BBS and then "TD-TF' and I copied the URL.

I then went to my desktop shortcut and right clicked and went to "Properties" and replaced the old URL with the new one.

Surprisingly I did not need to change my Iphone.
Still working on MAC

On the MAC i could not find a way to edit the existing shortcut URL.
I deleted the old one.
Logged into the BBS/TD-TF page and created a new shortcut by "dragging the URL in the Safari header to the desktop.

I was incorrect in saying the Iphone worked . It does not, I will work on that.

Iphone fix is the same as MAC.
Delete and replace.

After stumbling around for about an hour I finally got it sorted. Had to delete the link that used to work though. I was also able to drag the new link up to the top of the bookmarked list. Cheers

On a Windows machine, simply right-click the link and select Properties. Add an 's' after 'http' and click "OK". Your shortcut is now updated and will work as before the site update.

I know it's a bit late but I think I now have the old bookmarks fully supported.
Mike Plumstead

FWIW. My original post for this thread was about links in posts vs getting to the BBS with a bookmark.

A number of us were automatically getting all links set to https which would fail when the site we linked to did not support that (common).

In my bookmark/favorite to get to the BBS I avoid using http or https and just start with www.

Since Mike seems to have fixed the issue my comment may be moot but you might want to try this too if still affected.
