MG TD TF 1500 - Badge Bar Installation
A TD badge bar is being offerred on ebay. Can anyone tell me how this should be mounted to the car? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MG-MG-TD-MG-T-F-BADGE-BAR-/360761837139?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53ff14c653&vxp=mtr |

That looks like a standard Moss bar 451-060. Gohere http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29617&SortOrder=10 and click on "Info" but basically it uses the front bumper to frame bolts. Jim B. |

Also note that at Moss' price of $65 you are not saving much on eBay. LBC would be even closer. Jim B. |

Corey, You can "mouse over" the image to magnify it,,,,, it shows a lot of rust and scratches,,,,, not even worth it if uit was free,,,, SPW |

Steve, I noticed that as well and send a message to the ebay seller. The item is advertised as new. No response yet. Jim, I agree with you. I had looked a the badge bar show in the Moss printed catalog, and it appeared to have two vertical end bars, which I didn't like. The sketch in the online catalog looks much better. Problem solved! |

Chris I have that bar on both of my cars. On the TF about 8 years 20000 miles in all kinds of weather and I don't have any of the corrosion shown in that photo.

If it's new, it must have been stored underwater. Or no one in Taiwan washed the flux away after welding. Not that I like those Moss bars anyhow, they look cheap - the crudely welded sheetmetal tabs and plastic end plugs just aren't right on a '50's, English car. Oh well, we all tolerate the nasty things anyhow, because they don't require drilling any new holes, and we got to have a place to put our 576s. |
