MG TD TF 1500 - Badge question

I found this in the box of parts that came with the MGTF I am currently restoring. The lettering in the space below the crown is LY-6410. Could this be a registration number? Anybody familiar with this type of badge? I assume it is British or maybe from down under.
Sorry no matter what I do the picture the picture comes through upside down.

Sorry, it is about 2 3/4 inches in diameter and made of what looks to be a bronze or brass casting...

Yes, the closest I came was searching for "crown inside laurel wreath" which got me mostly British army officer's badges. Didn't find an exact match though.

The style of crown looks similar to Queen Victoria's reign. May not be auto. A registered post box? Canadian?
