MG TD TF 1500 - barn find
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111269123246?lpid=82 This is on eBay |

Too bad the barn did not have a roof. Matthew. |

$13k price tag makes me feel all warm & fuzzy for 3 reasons: 1: I don't own it (or am I buying it for that price). 2: Pretty close to what I paid for my car. (it was in "slightly" better shape). 3: Makes me want to call this guy and get an offer for mine! |

I think HDP means Ivory (or cream), not Olde English White. I am very pleased that, according to the seller, it retains the original battery and white wall tires - imagine how many cars today are restored without those crucial parts in place... What's fair - $7,000? It is a 1250, after all... Tom |

Wasn't this on ebay some time ago? Looks familiar, at least to me. Maybe I'm flashing back to my "find", wasn't in a barn but it ran, drove it home and it only cost me $1000. But that was 30+ years ago too. |

Is this guy for real? That needs complete restoration and he wants 12 plus for it. f....ing nuts.. |

I was thinking it could be a builder until I saw the shot of the missing sheet metal and wood from the underside. I bid three no trump. And a half smoked Marlbro. |

He's gotta be nuts! If he is a "restorer" why isn't he restoring it? Not even a parts car?? |

The "original whitewall tires" aren't even whitewalls, they are fake porta-walls. |

The seller is Kurt Tanner. Someone told me he is the best Austin Healey restorer in the world? Maybe even expensive? Seeing cars like this I know I have been lucky owning a nice clean strong running TF ... Regards, Jan |

Wow, It must be those original Port-A-Walls, the original tires and the original battery! Can't find those every day, not still on a car 50 years old! I wonder if their still usable? LOL! PJ |

That would be a really fun project. Looks like most of the bits are there, as well as many original things. Agree with above about price way too high, but they aren't making any more of these. Nice find Russ, thanks for posting. George |

On the serious note, I paid more than that for mine, but only because it had a rebuilt engine with only 10 hours running time on it, plus I knew that it was going to be a frame off restoration. If you think about it, 12 Gs isn't that bad for a matching number car, especially if the car is all there and the engine runs fairly well. As George said, they don't make them anymore. JMHO. PJ |

If I had the money and the storage space I would buy this car and store it in a glass cage. How many more T Series cars in this condition will emerge? Reminds me of visiting scrap yards with my father in the 1960s. There is almost a tear in my eye. Jan T |
