MG TD TF 1500 - Barn Find TF1500 on eBay

Not quite as original as the seller states (the entire interior, including top, have been replaced), but a nice looking car once you get past the white upholstery, kick and door panels, eyebrow padding and center dash.

It will be interesting to see for how much it sells.

Trust you to find this gem, Tom.

I'll bet that one ends up in the UK. There were VERY FEW Home market TF1500s made - most were destined for the US. Even with disc wheels, I imagine it will be quite valuable there. Should fetch a fancy price ... will be fun to watch.

The tacky stuff aside, a highly restorable example. However, if I were buying it, I would find someone to certify that it indeed, has the "W (Wolsley) in the Diamond" on the engine block.

The XPEG block was sometimes seripticiously exchanged for the XPAG, when an owner's back was turned. I've seen several.

This is about the 69th-from-last built.
Spec is RHD Export. The next three directly after this one went to Australia.
May have the original jack.
Wonder if some of the original upholstery survives under the white?

Matthew.

This is TF10031, in case people can't read the Guarantee plate.

The owner still appears to believe that the car is all original. It has not reached its reserve at $9,322, with just 2 days to go.

I think I noticed the bid had reached $11,000.00 when closing occurred. I think someone probably got a good deal if that is the selling price as of 10/9/2016.
Jerry Chandler 1951 TD

It closed at $11,100 'Reserve not met'

re-listed with pretty ambitious asking price.

I'd say - $24,000! And now with no mention of the "original" white vinyl upholstery or top, thank heavens!
