MG TD TF 1500 - Barrel Pin
Can anyone tell me if the Barrel Pin which locates in the clutch arm attached to the sump has a thread in it or does the threaded rod just slide through it, that is without actually screwing into the barrel pin. Thanks Regards george

It just slides through with a shouldered nut doing the adjustment followed by a locknut. Originally BSF. Ray TF 2884

George, here's mine. As Ray said, it slides through the pin and a cupped spacer goes on next with two jamb nuts. PJ

Thanks Fella's my barrel pin had the remanent of a thread inside so when I made a new one I threaded it, will drill it out tomorrow. Regards George

George, if it were threaded in the pin, adjusting it would be quite a task. With it sliding through, adjustments are a breeze! Just keep spring tension on it. PJ

Thanks, I now suspect the thread I can see in the old Barrel pin is in fact just marks from the threaded rod flopping around and making thread like marks. Regards george
