We will be working on wiring this week

This is the same shade of red I found on the TF bits that were hidden. I believe this was the original material on the TC. A much brighter red than what Moss supplies.

When you check out the front end, make sure all the drag links and king pins are tight. Make sure they are all greased, and the steering box has 140 w oil in it. I don't know why, but TCs tend to develop toe out. Check to make sure the wheels toe in. The toe in is nil to 1/4". You may also consider a Thompsons steering kit from moss. They provide infinite adjustment on the steering cam, and replace the friction point with a roller bearing. With everything as it should be, the TC is a fun car to drive. -David |

New king pins and bushings reemed to a nice tight fit. Found a loose neut on the links. All greased up. Brakes and bearings are all done. Seal fix installed on the rear. I'm a little reluctant to touch the steering box unless we find something amiss when we get it rolling. A couple of better wheels should be here tomorrow along with 5 new tires, tubes and liners. Shocks are back on after a trip to World Wide. I have high hopes this thing will be rolling along in 3 or 4 weeks.

The Tompkins kit can be installed fairly quickly. It replaces the top of the box, it is only three bolts. It is quickly and easily adjusted to verbally eliminate play in the box, and corrects the poor, high friction design of the bishop cam. It is extremely inexpensive, and worth every cent. Also, don't forget to make sure the front wheels toe in slightly. -David |

Looking good LaVerne. I found the same red when in my TF. It is more of an electric red than the deep blood red that moss sells. |

LaVenne, As you work on Bill's TC, be sure to pull the cap off the diff, if that bearing has not been replaced, the balls will likely fall out in your hands. Replace the rear pinion bearing. Terry |

I put the Doug Pelton seal fix on the axles along with new bearings, brakes and wheel cylinders. The differential drained clean (no particles) so I believe I'll leave that for his son to deal with when the time comes Terry. I have hopes that it will be out of my shop and on the road in two or three weeks. |

LaVerne...I agree with Terry - that pinion bearing will be loose balls by now. Found the same situation on both of mine and there were NO particles in the oil. If nothing else, alert the son. Gene... |

Thanks guys. I plan on writing a list of what we did and what I would suggest be done. |
