MG TD TF 1500 - Capture Nut Bracket
Does anyone produce the capture bracket for the nuts on the T series? |

For the front apron. 1/15-22 BSF |

I couldn't be bothered trying to find them. I needed some for the firewall & the rear guards as they were long gone on my car. So I checked my stash of pics & then just shaped some sheet steel around a home made square nut of the appropriate size (5/16 BSF) cut from flat bar & welded the cages in place. Mort, not sure what you mean by 1/15-22? Pretty sure the front apron is also 5/16 BSF. Cheers. Peter TD 5801. |

I'm fairly sure that our good friend Dave Braun has a series of pics on how he made them on his site. I don't recall what topic he had it listed under, however. Kirk |

I just checked Dave Braun's site. He has the caged nut series listed under Tub and Wings. Thanks yet again Dave! Kirk |

Mort, Mini suppliers sell the captive nut holders, there are some on ebay at the moment. 170853699450 John |

Not a problem. Just because we used an end mill and a form for bending the cages, doesn't mean you couldn't make a few by hand. Same with the square captive nuts, which were for all practical purposes made by hand. Warmly, dave |
