MG TD TF 1500 - Carpet fastener ?

Santa brought new carpets for the TD. I think the "spiked ring" fasteners are original for the attachments next to the seats? I don't have any of those but do have a bunch of lift-the-dot pieces. Other than for originality, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two types? Thanks, George

As far as I know George, only the Lift-the-Dot fasteners were used and original, and the spike and the fastener are both easily available.

Santa was sure good to you. I left Santa some shortbread cookies and a generous shot of McCallum 16 yr. I was hoping for a new water pump for the PA, but alas, none was to be had.

I'm losing faith in Santa.

Hang in there, you are near the end of Santa's run, he was tired and ready to get home and I'm sure that the McCallum 16 year probably pushed him over the edge. He is probably up there in the north pole wondering exactly where that water pump belongs (bet he even checked his slay to see if the water pump needed replacement. <G>

I have a (relatively, well, less that 100,000 miles) low-mileage TC which I have owned for over 50 years (before that I had a PA). There are "carpet fasteners" in front of the seats and "lift-the-dot" fasteners in several other locations. The small holes in the ramp plate for example, will generally indicate the locations. I nearly forgot, this is for a TC.
