MG TD TF 1500 - Clutch installation help
This will be my first clutch install and I need a little help. When I removed the old pressure plate the clutch disk was "stuck" to the flywheel. At first glance today it seems that aligning the new disk between the flywheel and pressure plate will be a challenge. Is there a step by step process someone could share? Thanks |

You should use a clutch aligning tool Mark. Almost impossible to align without it. They're about $20 for the plastic version. An old 1st motion shaft will do or a piece of dowel the correct diameter may even work. Sounds like you should get yourself a WSM. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

My apologies to the group. Somehow I overlooked the entry in the WSM. I will get the alignment tool. |

Many years long before plastic alignment tools were available I made my own from a Broomstick.I turned it down to fit the pilot shaft bearing . I still have it in my tool box along with primary shafts from various English cars. Sandy |
