PJ, 165 x 15 will fit the car, as long as the Coker prices will fit your wallet!! In the specs, it says that tubes are not needed,,, that might be fine for the tires, but not necessarily OK for the rims that you might chose to mount them on. (Wait for it !!) SPW |

Any thoughts or reviews on the Nexen SB02 tires for my TD? Thanks, |

Had never heard of Nexen until a few years ago. The dealer installed them on my daughter's used Mazda 6 when we bought it. Good tread wear, quiet on the highway, etc. Not sure which tire model however. George |

Lots in the archives as you know, but I got Verdensteins (like many others here) last spring. Running good so far. A lot cheaper than Cooker. No tubes. |

There are many threads on this subject already, but I would like to again express my concern at the practice of running tubeless tires on solid TD/TF wheels. These rims were made for use with tubes, were NOT made for tubleless tires, and do not have the safety lip on the rim to prevent a tubeless tire from coming off the rim. I am fully aware that it is done all the time, perhaps without incident. But it is a potentially dangerous practice, and as a (small) businessman, I would not accept the liability. I am just finishing up some work on a car that has been out of commission for so long that its tires are not only tubeless, but were made in the German Democratic Republic! The owner will be required to sign a written disclaimer before he will drive the car away from my shop! And of course, always use spacer rings in the tube holes. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

PJ; You might contact Bob Johnson in the Tulsa area for a mounting suggestion. Long time TD owner and tech. He could have a recommendation for a shop. Dan jtcarburetor@gmail.com 918-850-3905 |

Just this Summer, I bought a set of five Nexen 165x15s along with radial tubes on my TD's disc wheels. They were very inexpensive Chinese? tires compared to the more popular ones many of our fellow readers buy. But I do very little highway driving, mostly neighborhood drives and maybe only 500 miles per season. I also had them install the valve stem grommets. I am very favorably impressed with the driving qualities and handling improvements the Nexens provide. So far, I have found no reason to have them balanced yet. |

PJ,, Is that "with" (included) shipping or "with" (plus) shipping ?? SPW |

Steve, Their $80.00 ea and $8.00 ea shipping. Total $440.00 to me for 5 tires. The $99.00 free shipping from Summit doesn't apply due to size and weight. PJ http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cok-568741/overview/ |

That's a pretty good price!! |

I've been running Diamondback radials on my old steel wheels. See photo. Love them, great ride. Allan Hendrix of Hendrix Wire Wheel in Greensboro, NC shaved them so they are perfectly matched to each wheel. Old school technology at which Allan is a master. |
