MG TD TF 1500 - Crane cam

I got a new Crane cam mg-t3 together vith som other stuff, is it for racing onley, or can i use it in a TF1500 for normal driving

That camshaft needs a very Compression ratio to create engine vacuum for it to work properly. You cannot get a 10.5: 1 C/R with OEM pistons, you will need custom pop-up pistons. You would still need to fly cut the block for exhaust valve to block clearance, a normal machine shop operation. IMO not suited for street use unless you keep the RPM range from 3500-4000 to 7000 RPM.

The Crane cam in my 1500 TF is 340-0002 mild road cam blueprinted. Idles nice but makes the engine a little more lively than stock.
Not sure but I think you have a racing cam, which could make it a lumpy idle and at a higher rpm. PJ

Note the lift and valve lash of the MG T3. It has a lot of lift and a wide valve lash. This will be a very noisy valvetrain. Also the duration tells me that it will be very lopey and will require a high idle setting Not a very streetable cam. To work well requires very hi compression in excess of 10.5:1 and high octane fuel. The cam will be very weak below 2800 rpm.
