MG TD TF 1500 - Dimension required

All,

Does anybody have the exact dimension between the top of the engine block (Just the block, without the cylinder head) and the centre line of the crankshaft.
I am getting together the kit of parts for fitting my Shorrock supercharger and require this to calculate the drive belt size.

I've been looking into this further and found another way to determine this dimension. It is the sum of:
1/ The connecting rod centre line to centre centre line figure.
2/ Half of the stroke.
3/ On the piston, the dimension from the gudgeon pin centre line to the piston top.

I have 1/ and 2/ but still require 3/.
If anybody has a piston at hand, please could you check this for me. Thanks in advance.

Using a metal scale and estimating the center of the gidgion pin.
1-3/4”

John,
I have a piston that was removed from my TD 1250cc back in 1972.
The gudgeon pin hole is18mm dia and the distance to the piston top from the top of the gudgeon hole is 36.5mm, therefore, I deduce the measurement on center to the top of the piston is 45.5mm.
Does this help you
That's just a fog hair past 1 3/4" :)

Jim, Rod,

That's perfect, thanks a lot, I now have everything I need to accurately calculate the belt size.

Interesting --
I answered this at 10.54"
--only about 5mins after you first asked- and it came up on the screen but seems to have gone somewhere--------------strange

William,

Thanks, that's good I made it 10.529", Using two different methods we arrived at the same value (Within an acceptable margin of error).

John
The diff. between our figures would probably be the deck height clearance between the top of the piston and the top of the block with my measurement being actual block height and yours being a calculated stack height of components
Either way I'm sure the s/c belt won't notice

Still can't work out why my earlier post vanished
