MG TD TF 1500 - Doors
Are TD doors the same as TF Thanks George |

No George. I believe not. I know the main side curtain on a TD & a TF are different so that has to be down to the doors being different also. (Good to see you still battling on). Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

I don't think doors off another TF would be guaranteed to fit. They seem to be unique to the car they came off. |

The TF door is longer at the bottom. David |

TF doors are sloped further forward at the bottom of the front vertical edge to match the TF scuttle angle than the TD Doors that also matches the TD scuttle angle. Doors were factory jig made so TF doors should fit if original to any TF body tub. The joints can deteriorate and usually twist out of shape but can be corrected with new wood sections. I make jig formed new steel door skins for TC, TD and TF. These are formed in one piece exactly as the original skins were formed. |

Here's a couple of pics George showing the difference between a TD & a TF front side curtain. It shows, as Rod states, that the TD & TF doors are not the same. The rusted frame on top is the TD & the trimmed one, the TF. Cheers Peter TD 5801 ![]() |
