MG TD TF 1500 - Engine Gaskets
I need a new valve cover gasket and side cover gasket. Is the Moss rubber impregnated cork gasket, part #290-300, recommended as well as the side cover gasket, part#290-600? PJ |

Get Tom Lange's rubber gaskets, they don't leak and will last for years. George |

Thanks George, I'll contact Tom. PJ |

David, Tom just got back to me and wanted my address ASAP! Hope I caught him in time. PJ |

If you're in a hurry, you can buy a sheet of silicon rubber and cut the gaskets out yourself. Available from McMaster-Carr or other industrial type sellers. Easier to buy them already done, of course. |

Thanks Steve, but I'll wait for Tom as he did email me back. If he's on his way to his vacation, I'll wait, no big rush. PJ |

Just got my valve cover and side cover gaskets from Tom. They are quality to be sure! Industrial silicone, quite thick. PJ |

You will love them, Mine are the original Roadster Gasket. no leaks in 10 years. I think Tom bought out the company that originally made them and his are the same quality as the original. Good Stuff... |

Agree. I have the red 'roadster' silicone gaskets on my Morris Traveler and on my Sunbeam Alpine - they basically eliminate any further need for gaskets - you can disassemble and reassemble as many times as you like and they still seal nicely. |
