MG TD TF 1500 - Engine Oil Drip Tray
I know these are common now but here's my take on the design, I made it from scrap copper with a little drain tap in the end.

Very nice fabrication.

Hi CJ, that is as near as dammit identical to mine even down to the rad drain outlet. Ray TF 2884

I gotta ask. It appears to install one of these trays one must drill several holes in the engine. Or do the holes use the existing bell housing bolts? I would not want to drill holes in the engine just to capture a few drops of oil? Ed

That design uses the existing bolts. It's great for an early non-finned sump. Great thing about copper is that you can easily solder the corners. Good job, CJ. Bud

If you use copper or aluminium (our spelling) you can indent to fit the fins. Ray TF 2884

Thanks for the comments, I reversed Tiddy (T D get it?) out of the garage this afternoon and my newly lined drip tray on the garage floor was bone dry, worth the effort, now I can visit friends without fear of embarrassment :-)

When an engine is rebuilt correctly you will have no oil leaks! Len Fanelli Abingdon Performance 914 420 8688

| Similar to mine but with the level gauge and the anti-slosh sponge. Declan
