MG TD TF 1500 - Engine Part needed
Hi One of the guys in my club needs a set of rods for his TD engine. I have three of the needed rods. So we are looking for a forth one to complete the set. Looking for one with the same casting number. The casting number is MOWOG 24005 * 53. Any help would be appreciated. gary krukoski at yahoo dot com Thanks gary ![]() |

There's an NOS rod in the BMC box on eBay at $80 right now; cannot read the casting number. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Hi Gary, I have a bunch of XPAG rods and I suspect some of them will have the correct casting number on them. However even rods with the same number often have quite different weights. If you could weigh the rods you have I will look for one that has a very similiar weight. Contact me off list if you are interested. Cheers, Hugh Pite |

Gary IF Hugh does not have what you need, Let me know. I will have to check numbers, but have 7 rods in my spares. 4 from my original rebuild and 3 from when that engine blew up. |

Ok, a question for those that know. What do the second numbers represent. I have rods that have 24005 *6 and others that have 24005 *21 |

I can't speak for T-type numbers, but on most Triple-M parts, the suffix number is the mold number. If there is a letter following, that is generally the revision level. I would expect post-war numbering followed the same scheme. |
