MG TD TF 1500 - Excessive UJ deflection
Has anybody tried blinker fluid to reduce UJ deflection? I only experience it on acceleration on my TF, when it can be quite noisy. I don't believe it will be as bad on a TD where the prop shaft is a full 3 inches longer. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. ![]() |

Gord, Don't by it yet!! I have info from a very good source that for the Holidays, there will be a great sale! . >Buy one jug of Blinker fluid, and get a Lucas Smoke Refill for half price!! SPW |

I understand the muffler bearings are of questionable quality. Manufactured in you know where. I think the house brand flasher fluid works just as well for less than half the cost. |

Why not restock with the new and improved Lucas short circuits, they are now supplied in both positive and negative ground configuration, Regards, Jan |

I have heard of that stuff when I needed to go buy a can of Seasonal Lubricated Air. Keeps the tires from dry rotting..... Whatever you don't do is drive with Winter Lubricated air in your tires in the summer. Remember to put the Summer Lubricated air in. The handling sucks... FYI |

Ok,, where does . 3:0:5^110:0:5^127:0:2, default, threadlist . come from?? Is it a regular name soaked in Blinker Fluid?? |

Thanks for posting this. I hope everyone understands that this won't work if you change to negative ground... You must buy Reverse Blinker Fluid instead. Of course if you install LEDs you only need to use half the amounts stated on the label. |

In college, we sent my friend's girlfriend to the auto parts store to get a new pistonator for her V12 Oldsmobile. She was not amused at all, but I bet the blinker fluid would have fixed the old one! George |

Best one I have heard of was an American army medical orderly being sent to the head nursing sister of his medical unit to ask for a sterile Fallopian Tube. |

In the Navy we used to send new kids just out of boot camp that came into flight line out for a bucket of prop wash. And, they went around asking everyone where they could get some! It only worked once. Anything for a laugh. PJ |

In the Coast Guard on USCGC Taney we would send the newbies to the Bosun's Locker for a can of term oil and 12 feet of waterline. Jim |

I sent an employee out for powdered water packets once. Kept her busy all morning. :-). |

And for the surface navy guys the Officer of the Deck (underway) would send the messenger of the watch down to the engine room for a bucket of steam to clean the pilot house windows! |

Hi You could also be sent for a long weight or a tub of elbow grease. Barry |

For my Boy Scouts (I'm an Asst. Scoutmaster for a troop of 108 boys) I actually did make a "Left Handed Smoke Shifter"... it consisted of three panels of galvanized steel with rolled edges and riveted together with two brass piano-hinges to create a tri-fold, free-standing wind-blocker which we use to keep our Dutch ovens warm in breezy conditions. I stenciled "Left-Handed Smoke Shifter" on the centre panel. So now when some neighboring troop sends a scout to off find one, our troop actually DOES have one! :) |

Oh, and many years ago - back when gas stations had attendants who would pump your gas and check your oil - my brother and I pulled one on an attendant at our local station in the deep south... While pumping our gas we asked him to please check the oil and he dutifully did so, reporting back that it was fine. Then we asked, while he was under there, if he could also please check our frammus rod, since we thought it might be out of adjustment. The poor guy spent about 5 minutes under that hood, prodding around and looking all over the place for that dang frammus rod. He finally poked his head around the side of the hood and declared, with wide eyes and a big smile... "massa McLemore, 'yo Frammus Rod is OooooooooK!" My brother and I held off until we got out of the station and then commenced to damn near laugh ourselves to death. |
