MG TD TF 1500 - Fan spindle lubrication
The maintenance schedule calls for the fan spindle to be lubricated, the point on my '53 TD where this is shown is a blank. Any ideas? TD29330 ![]() |

It means it is a sealed for life bearing, no periodic greasing required. Probably a cheap aftermarket replacement pump, so "life" may not be as long as an original. D |

The original pumps had a grease fitting, requiring special WATERPUMP grease. Most replacements now (like yours) have sealed bearings, no need to, or way to grease them. The replacement castings still have a slug for a grease fitting, but are not tapped for one. David. |

Many thanks for information, very helpful |

I would suggest it might be a good idea to search for an old original pump that's had it and send to EP services to fit new modern ceramic seals. Then either keep it as a spare or fit when convenient. Dave H |
