MG TD TF 1500 - Finished restoration
Finished restoration this morning. Seriously considering going to disc brakes and alternator but hate to go this route due to moving away from original build.

That's what mine *should* look like. Nice job, CJ! |

She looks fantastic!! Congratulations!! |
Frank Cronin |
Very Nice CJ. I would drive it a bit. May find you really don't need either disks or an alternator. |
Bruce Cunha |
Beautiful job, enjoy her. |
Jack Long |
Enjoy your work of functional art. Cheers. |

Nothing wrong with red :-) I love those wheels. My experience is that the brakes are actually perfect for the car as long as you only use them as needed and don't apply light pressure for long periods which tends to cause overheating. The alternator is not needed for normal loads if the generator is operating correctly. |

Very nice! Get some bugs on it! |

CJ, I know you are a happy camper now. Congratulations. Mort |

Great job! Resist the temptation to modernize the car until you are accustomed to driving it. People tend to get used to modern cars and that makes old cars feel uncomfortable. Drive it every day and the brakes will begin to feel completely normal, and you will over brake your modern car! Happens every time I get in my wife's modern, since I daily drive my MGs. |

Really nice job! Is the interior black or a dark brown? |
Richard Olson |
Thanks all for the kind words, the interior is dark brown. |

The front brakes are well designed twin-leading brakes and more than adequate. If you switch to discs, you'd have to upgrade to wire wheels to show them off!!! |

Looks great ! I am curious at what was the last thing you did to declare yourself 'finished'. When do you switch from restoration to maintenance :-) Dave |
D Moore |
Last thing I did was to put the hood back on and test drive it. If it didn't blowup on me then I figured that the restoration was finished. Now the maintenance starts. |
CJ Henderson |
CJ, it looks great and it's there to drive now. Restauration finished is not only the state of the car but also also a state of mind. So lock away those tools for a while and just enjoy... |

Well done! |
JE Carroll |
Nice! Of course you are never actually finished... |
