MG TD TF 1500 - Flasher relay.

Although for a TC has anyone found a modern flasher relay that can be used on a TC?

If you mean the turn signal flasher and not the DB10 8 post relay, LiteZupp makes the best I have found.

No I mean the DB10 8 post relay

If you change your mind on a vintage looking box, you can use an inexpensive "trailer light converter."

A lot of foreign vehicles have separate brake and turn lights and require a converter.

I've gone through many. I don't advise the "self energized" units as they are slow to respond since the circuitry relies on the small feed to the bulbs, especially with low voltage conditions at idle.

The better ones require a 12V source and I recall it has to be hot at all times, not just with ignition on, if you want flashers while parked.

I bought a converter with LEDs and relays inside that is not solid state, but if voltage drops close to 12.0, it quits working. Steer clear of that contraption.

We've had good luck for the past decade with a cheap, chrome "universal turn signal switch" on our one TD. It has the circuitry to separate turns from brake lights, incorporates a knob for flashers, has small red light as an indicator in the case, clamps to steering column and costs less than $20. I shaved down a pair of tiny LEDs and hid them between the top of the dash and cowling plus wired in a buzzer as reminders to turn them off.

Here's an easy-to-install alternative that would be as appropriate on your TC as a later model MG turn signal box.

Search eBay for "Signal Stat."

They are a 7-wire turn signal conversion that were popular in the 40s and 50s before turn signals were standard on cars. They have everything, except the flasher, in one unit including the switch lever. Not self-cancelling. Could be hidden under the dash with the lever facing out, or could be mounted on the steering column if space allows for a "period-look."

Most are under $50.

Will need to change your single filament front running lights to double filament sockets. Available from Moss and others.

Shoulda read Jim N’s response closer. His description is similar to a Signal Stat.
