MG TD TF 1500 - Flat vs raised gauge faces

Would a 1952 TD with a build date of 10 March 1951 have flat or raised dials on the speedometer and RPM?

Thanks

Most likely the later gauges. (raised)

Depends on the car/chassis #, I think the changeover was #10778 or so. My car #10835 was built Oct. '51 with the later gauges, so most likely yours should be flat. George

ooops.... just read the '52, not the actual build date.

Didn't update....

LHD cars were changed to dish-faced magnetics Oct. 5, 1951 @ TD10751, and RHD cars were changed @ TD10779 Oct.8,1951....

....other changes these dates were Ammeter from 20A to 30A, and panel lights from switch to rheostat.

This from F.E.Old lll, Sacred Octagon April 1980.

I'm with George & CR's latest post. Mine has a 1st Feb 1951 build date & has flat gauges. Cheers

Joe,

More of the same here...my car brackets yours and the ones mentioned with earlier build dates.

I have TD/C7254 which has a build date about a month later than yours at April 19, 1951 and it has flat faced gauges.
