MG TD TF 1500 - Flat vs raised gauge faces
Would a 1952 TD with a build date of 10 March 1951 have flat or raised dials on the speedometer and RPM? Thanks Joe |

Most likely the later gauges. (raised) ...CR |

Depends on the car/chassis #, I think the changeover was #10778 or so. My car #10835 was built Oct. '51 with the later gauges, so most likely yours should be flat. George |

ooops.... just read the '52, not the actual build date. ...CR |

Didn't update.... LHD cars were changed to dish-faced magnetics Oct. 5, 1951 @ TD10751, and RHD cars were changed @ TD10779 Oct.8,1951.... ....other changes these dates were Ammeter from 20A to 30A, and panel lights from switch to rheostat. This from F.E.Old lll, Sacred Octagon April 1980. ...CR |

I'm with George & CR's latest post. Mine has a 1st Feb 1951 build date & has flat gauges. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Joe |

Joe, More of the same here...my car brackets yours and the ones mentioned with earlier build dates. I have TD/C7254 which has a build date about a month later than yours at April 19, 1951 and it has flat faced gauges. Charlie |
