MG TD TF 1500 - Fully Removable Hood Installation

I've written this up in Word (about 20 pages including 22 embedded pictures). The single document is 6+MB. I've split it into three chapters of 1.75MB, 1.31MB and 2.98MB so I think it can be emailed in three parts.

I'm not clever enough to set up a web site or anything like that so I'm wondering if this is something that could be put on T-Talk or something like that. If so and if interested, please send me an email at jchapin at worldacceptance dot com.

Here's a shot of the finished installation.

In a Word document you can rescale the pictures. If you do that the size will decrease dramatically.

JK,
A unique Idea,, Similar to the "take Off" top that I had on my '66 "B",,,
Can you post a pic of how the front is attached with the aluminum bar??

Keep on Thinkin' !!

Try sending the file to me at the above email address. I'll see what I can do about hosting it on Ttalk. If you run into a snag send the three parts. Bud

This is a great idea! nicely done, too.
Living in California, I remove the whole thing including the headrail and sticks. I've only gotton stuck in the rain once. I'm anxious to read your write-up.
Thanks

I'm not totally thrilled with the front corners. The double thiick canvas made neatly folding and tucking them under difficult but I was (and remail) not ready to apply the scissors as Dave D did (his corner tucks look much better than mine). Also, I debated adding padding to the underside of the top rail when installing the excluder strip and again decided against it since I live in a warmer climate and am not too worried about a bit of outside air sneaking in. If it's raining I'm sure I'll get wet anyway and if it's raining real hard I'd better be able to find cover.

Thanks Mike. I couldn't bring myself to burn or throw away the 100-200+ year old California Redwood staves from our old hot tub so I resawed then to 3/4 in boards for the sides and 1/4 in for the panels and made the box. The staves had been underwater in the hot tub for over 20 years. A little water seal and CA Redwood thinks nothing of getting a little wet.
