MG TD TF 1500 - Gas Tank End Panel Bolts
Anyone know the size ( length pitch diameter) of the chrome capped bolts tat hold the gas tank panels on, don't want to pay $6 @ like to fabricate some, thanks as always |

No on the size Jon, but while you're working in there put some JB weld around the little nuts that are braised onto the tank that receive these bolts. Mine just sprung a dangerous gas leak when I filled the tank to the brim! Apparantly this is a common problem. Ed |

They are 1/4-BSF. I would make a stud. 1/4-bsf on one end and 1.4 UNF on the other and use standard cap nuts. Jim B. |

Check these: http://www.britishfasteners.com/ http://www.polished-stainless.com/ http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/pdf/madmetrics.pdf All good lowcost sources for BSF sizes. You will probably have to cut the bolts to size. |

Jon Sure seems like a lot of work to fabricate these. I got a new set for my car. You can have my old ones if you want them. email me if interested. Also, there is a set of 4 on ebay now. About ten bucks if I recall correctly. Tom '54 TF |
