MG TD TF 1500 - GOF MK 96

I have spent the morning packing the truck, I am almost ready to head off to Auburne Maine for the New England MG T Register's a Gathering of the Faithful MK 96. This gathering will be held near Richard Knudson's home town of Mechanic Falls, and will conclude our 50th year celebration. I hope to see many of you there.
Be well,
David Sander
Chairman
The New England MG T Register, Ltd.

Well I don't know where I have been? But I did not know this event was on?
I live only 12.5 miles form Machanic Falls and could have walked there.... TD Engine is in bits at the moment darn it.

Rod,
You missed guite an event,,, even a very special tour of Bob Barhes private collection up in Paris Hill,, Can't figure out how you missed it!!! Are you a member of the T Register ??

I was about 15 years ago Steve. But then it seemed most of the gatherings were in Mass or CT and I let it laps. Last thing I attended was the Two Lights event - way back. I am not really a concourse person anyway. Just like to drive the TD when the weather is warm - which helps the old bones somewhat these days?

When I was living in England I did join the T register there and have maintained my club membership of the Octagon CC.

I have really not seen too many MG's up here in Maine though.

Rod.

ROD,
.
.You said,
>>I am not really a concourse person anyway.<<
.
While the "T" Register does have some very nice cars in it, I believe that you will find that most are drivers, and not concourse!! And it's a real friendly bunch of people all sharing the affection for old MGs!

I wish you guys would stop using the word 'concourse'. That word applies to where the train stops.

The correct word, is Concours, as in "Concours d'Élégance"

Gord said that ...

Never could understand French...
Maybe there was some subtle meaning there...
Grin.

Point made Steve.
Once I get the brute back on the road - will have to look into it

Another fine GoF,
Kudos to Dave Sander and the Knudson family for organizing the event.
Mobius had it's longest ride under my ownership. Clocked 1,028 miles round trip. Most of it on the Interstates at about 70 mph and I averaged about 19 mpg. I might have done a little better but I had to dip a rag into my tank several times so Rick Smith could clean the green paint off his car and himself.
Kudos also to Bob and Debbie Johnson from OK, who logged over 2,000 miles just one way!
The picture Steve posted above is when we arrived at the Bob Bahre Collection. That's me in the yellow shirt bending over the TD and helping Fredda out.
This was truly a magnificent collection. 72 beautiful and very rare cars. When I get time I will post a link to the full set but this 1914 Stutz Bearcat is just an example.
Mort

PS: There was even a TD in the collection!

PPS: The curator (he was great) is charged with having all 72 cars ready to go at all times!

YES,,,
Dave and Dick did a great job!!
And, as a result of getting a flat late Sat night, I added a few more items to my spares list,, a tube, and two tire irons,,, Rick, Dave and I changed the tube (twice) in the hotel parking lot,, The first time we pinched the tube, the second time Rick gave us a lesson in the "finer points" of changing a tube, and it's still holding air today!!!
These two cars, a Mercedes, and Alfa Romeo are "the most sought after cars in the World" because of their history, rearity, and the fact that they are all original,, never restored,,, worth 40M each!!
