MG TD TF 1500 - Going home
After 25 years of living in Wisconsin, my wife, myself and our two MGs (1950 TD and 1967 MGB GT) are moving back to our family home in California. Both the B and the TD were from CA and restored there. We are going to the foothills above Sacramento and will be making new MG friends in the Sacramento British Car club. I drove the B across the US at the end of July, and have the TD on a trailer behind our moving van. So far a great trip. Lots of honks and thumbs up on the road. Still impressed on hold many people know what an MG is. Hoping to pull the body off the TD starting next year to repaint it. Giving good consideration to bringing it back to the original sun bronze color and working (with the help of all your posts and information) on bringing it back close to what it was when it left the factory. ![]() |

Might consider folding the windscreen flat Bruce. Safe travels and best of luck. I imagine you will take 80 but if you decide to drop down to 70 look me up when you get close to the Colorado Utah border. |

Bruce, As a transplanted Golden Stater (Go Giants!), welcome back. I've done that trip several times...make sure your truck always has at least 1/4 tank and check your trailer tires for pressure. Drive safe. Charlie Duffy Healdsburg, CA |

Chris, I'm up that way nearly weekly picking up parts from Lawrie. I would sure like to stop by and take detail pics of your TD and chat sometime if possible providing you accept visitors... Cheers Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |

Bill: I am just 5 mi away from Lawrie and the same off ramp from US 50. Send me an email next time you are coming up or for my phone number. I just have to take the car out of its bubble :-) |

Chris, Lawrie is giving A tech session on SU carbs on the 30th for the SVMGCC which I'm planning to attend if my new job hasn't started up by then. I will contact you in advance to see if you are available. Cheers Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |
