MG TD TF 1500 - Gray Roadster Gasket Valve Cover Gaskets
Due to a manufacturing error, I have a supply of GRAY valve cover gaskets for XPAG/XPEG engines. These are identical in quality and fit to the usual red ones, and are fully guaranteed - the ONLY difference is the color. I do NOT have matching tappet cover gaskets. I am able to sell these gaskets for $20 each (rather than the usual $30), including US postage. Please contact me if you are interested. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Hi Tom, I bought a gasket from either B&G or Moss and it was plain cork. It was quite thin and leaked in one of the rear corners. I later bought a much thicker one, again cork, from the Octagon Club and this has sealed perfectly. What's the difference between my cork ones and your coloured ones? Jan T |

Thick, soft and reusable. After replacing my valve cover I discovered that one corner was high (probably dropped and hammered out) causing a leak but that was easily eliminated with a dab of Ultra Copper Permatex. Jud |

The cork gaskets are hard to fit, and not terribly long-lasting. My roadster gaskets can be used and re-used - some have been on cars for 30 years! To read about my Roadster Gaskets please go to mgtrepair.net, where there are many product details and testimonials. Thanks. Tom |

I got my gray valvvecover gasket ye4sterday, and I like the looks of it - more cork-like. My long-standing oil leak is now gone! $20 inclusing shipping feels like a deal. JM |

Toms gaskets. I will never use cork again. These are the best. PJ![]() |

My new gray valve cover gasket arrived today, looks like the long awaited solution to an old problem. And "what a deal" for $20 incl. shipping. I'll have it installed in Emma soon, she doesn't get driven enough to leak from that source much, but she will be much happier I'm sure. I remember the old cork gasket on the TD I drove daily back in the early 60's, I think I tightened the knurled nuts holding the valve cover every time I opened the bonnet. My thanks to Tom Lange, if you have any left, the guys are missing a good deal ;-) Al 54 TF "Emma" |

Mine arrived as well, I'm looking forward to installing it! Definitely an improvement on the old cork gaskets. |

Tom's Roadster Gaskets are the best thing since sliced bread! And yes, they do work with aftermarket valve covers/tappet covers also! |

Only thing I haven't figured out yet, is where the MG logo gasket goes! LOL. PJ |

Hi Tom, The gray Roadster Gaskets arrived a couple of days ago and I finally was able to have a good look at them this morning. I won't be installing the valve cover gasket for a few weeks but I certainly like the material. The installation information is very good and was pleased it was included. Thanks for the quick service. George |

MG logo as a coaster! Now that's a novel idea! I like it! PJ |

I bought one of Tom's grey gaskets. Works/seals better than the cork one it replaced. As far as the color goes, the purist or Concours headed show car will take issue, but beauty is as beauty does. This is a beautiful gasket. Thanks Tom, Bob; |

Tom L, can you post or email me the installation instructions you included? I can't seem to find them. My email is geoffreybaker at cox dot net. Thanks! |
