Could this be the elusive Anne Margaret hardtop?

| I knew that this had been advertised in the Sacred Octagon back in the 70's so last night I dug through my old copies and found the ad in the December 1978 edition. Is this Ann Margaret or another top? JB |

| Picture too small to tell. Can you send the scanned original via email? |

After getting the picture from JB this hardtop is not the Ann Margaret and was offered in 1978. It does resemble the S Carroll hardtop of the era pretty closely so it might be that top with a new company. Google searching for TAB hardtop came up empty for me.

| Reference Nov 2010 thread: Hard Top 1950 TD Dave Jorgensen's top was manufactured by (maybe distributed by?)Dale Runyan, Los Angeles. The "Anne Margaret" appears to be a Runyan. |

| Jim. I agree. |

| Jim and Chris, I think you're right about the Runyan being the "Ann Margaret" top. The top in JK's ad is like nothing I've seen in my research on glass tops; it certainly seems like it might fit a standard set of side curtains. If one ever shows up, it might be good to get it, splash it, and build a mold for it - I'm sure there are enough people out there wanting one that it might be a worthwhile project. Dave |

| If it is the S Carroll hardtop then it looks like it does use the standard set of sidecurtains. I have never seen another reference to the S Carroll hardtop so we will have to be on the lookout for it. |

| Who can identify the manufatcurer/name of my hardtop? It had no ID of any kind when I bought it a few years ago. I completely refurbished it with paint, a headliner, a custom set of side curtains and the MG hub cap medallions.

| Here's a perspective view of the Plasticon shell (in primer). You got "hands-on" experience with it at GOF Central, Jim. How does that back window compare? Did that rear side curtain come with yours? Ours has what appears to be a smaller sliver with no clear plastic.

| JIM, Just caught your "custom set of side curtains" statement. Uploaded: Out-of-focus photo of Plasticon side curtains.

| Jim, here is a picture of the back plastic window. It is held in place with a two piece rubber seal. The black goes on first with the window pane and the white part ins pressed into the black one to act as an expander. I was never able to find an identical replacement for this rubber seal arrangement so I just used what came with the top and sealed it against water leaks. I made the side curtains from a set of three bow frames that I bought on FeeBay. I cut the frames to fit my top and welded them as required. I had the curtain material made to fit the frames with my template and trimmed a set of chrome plated original strips to hide the curtain material bolts as was done originally. So maybe our tops are Plasticon, eh? Thanks
