MG TD TF 1500 - Help identifying an Irish TF
Attached is a picture of the first TF my Dad owned in the late 50s early 60s in Dublin Ireland. Registration number ZU5853. I am wondering is this car still in existence and if so where is it located. Would love to make contact with the current owner as I have 3 more pics of this car taken at this time. I am currently looking for similar info and pictures for our current TF ZU9424 and in the process of trying to contact previous owners. ![]() |

Very cool. The number plate may help if it's still located in the UK. If it came state side that won't be of much help. The car number would be useful in finding it should you have that. The TC at my place last year came to the states in 1961 and I contacted the second owner after he put in a request similar to yours along with the car number. I wondered about these plates that were in the car.

La Verney This type of info is so interesting to a new owner. Interesting about the slip of paper. Belfast is in Northern Ireland but there is no mention of the car being in Ireland. |

Sorry auto correct added the y to La Verne |

The TC was owned by a fellow in Ireland and purchased by the present owner there and then shipped to the states. The original owner was a service man who bought the car in Germany. Looks like the radiator was serviced there at least once.

D Lamby Your 2nd pic is of interest to me. Over the years have read many times concerning dash color. My fathers TF1500 had a black dash. (Black & Biscuit) He purchased new but all I have read say black dash was not an option. Was this one a dark green or black dash? And, do you know if it was original to the car? |

David I am assuming the dash is dark green to match the car. I can check with Dad not sure if he will remember. |
